Compactor Drums

EMG compaction devices are the only type on the market to feature involute-profiled compaction segments. These specially designed segments provide the most effective compaction because they don't flick out any compacted material as they roll. This will save you a considerable number of passes to achieve the desired level of compaction. Our compaction devices are available in a range of standard widths and sizes to suit any machine.

Compaction Drums consists of compaction segments arranged on the surface of a cylindrical drum. This means that the bearing posts must be located at each end of the drum, thereby limiting close access to edges near walls or in trenches. For this reason, we do not recommend drum type compactors for trench work (refer to our Wheel Compactor section for superior trench compaction).

Our drum compactors are fitted with sealed spherical roller bearings and also feature deflector plates to keep the compaction segments clear of mud, rocks or debris.
